It can also allow monitoring the environmental or an internal component\u2019s temperature within a typical range of -40 &#8211; +85\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Warning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copter-3.6 only supports the Drotek MS5611. BMP280 support will be released with Copter-4.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copter users can partially reduce the effect of air pressure disurbances by enabling&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/docs\/ground-effect-compensation.html#ground-effect-compensation\">Ground Effect Compensation<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to Buy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/drotek.com\/shop\/en\/imu\/44-ms5611-pressure-barometric-board.html\">MS5611 from Drotek<\/a>&nbsp;(recommended)<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adafruit.com\/product\/2651\">BMP280 I2C from Adafruit<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connecting and Configuring<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Connect the barometer to the autopilot\u2019s I2C port as shown below<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/_images\/baro-ms5611-pixhawk.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/_images\/baro-ms5611-pixhawk.jpg\" alt=\"..\/_images\/baro-ms5611-pixhawk.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the top of the Drotek MS5611 board, the \u201cI2C\u201d jumper should be soldered. Look for \u201cI2C\/SPI\u201d written on the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/_images\/baro-bmp280-pixhawk.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/_images\/baro-bmp280-pixhawk.jpg\" alt=\"..\/_images\/baro-bmp280-pixhawk.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/docs\/parameters.html#baro-probe-ext\">BARO_PROBE_EXT<\/a>&nbsp;to 4 for the Drotek MS5611 or 2 for the Adafruit BMP280. Reboot the autopilot after changing this parameter.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/docs\/parameters.html#baro-primary\">BARO_PRIMARY<\/a>&nbsp;to 1 to use the external barometer as the primary<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Testing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/_images\/baro-testing.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ardupilot.org\/copter\/_images\/baro-testing.png\" alt=\"..\/_images\/baro-testing.png\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Real-time pressure and temperature from the barometer are sent to the ground station. If using Mission Planner they are visible on the Flight Data &gt;&gt; Status tab, look for \u201cpress_abs2\u201d and \u201cpress_temp2\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mission Planner\u2019s MAVLink Inspector can also be used to view the data.
